Race for First Aid is a one-day track meet featuring the 100m dash, 200m dash, and the iconic 1600m. Created by Aiden Hayes as his senior project at Columbus North High School, this event brings middle and high school students together to compete, fundraise, and rally around a cause that saves lives.
Whether you're chasing a personal best or running your first mile, this event is for you. Every step, every lap, every second you run goes directly to the American Red Cross.
Runners signed up ahead of race day and secured their spot on the starting line. Middle and high school students of all paces competed.
On April 4th, runners arrived at Columbus North High School, checked in, warmed up, and lined up to compete. No experience required.
Runners sprinted the 100m, 200m, or pushed through the full 1600m. Every finish line crossed made a difference for the American Red Cross.
"First aid isn't just a skill. It's the difference between life and loss in the minutes before emergency services arrive."
Every dollar raised goes directly to the American Red Cross, supporting their life-saving mission of disaster relief, emergency preparedness, and community health. No overhead. No admin costs. Your miles fuel real change.
